May Women of Wisdom Devotional

Cultivating a heart of patience in every season…

Romans 5: 3 “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.”

As women, we are constantly being pulled in every direction with the pressures of everyday life. From careers, to managing a household, we are steadily giving of ourselves, which over time can lead to burn out. Managing a ministry, raising a family and juggling a career can be challenging but the key element to managing it all is patience.

“Patience is bearing trials and pain without complaining”

Do you ever find yourself murmuring and complaining about the spouse you prayed for and the ministry you’re a part of? At home it feels like you’re the only one tending to the kids and cleaning up, while at church it seems like you’re the only one serving and showing up. When those thoughts begin to fill your mind “think on things that are true and real by making it a habit to praise God at all times.”

James 1-2-4 “…when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.”

“When you take your mind off of the pain and put your mind on Jesus you will overcome.” At times, you’re going to have to take a step back and heal. Separation and dedication can be difficult but necessary. Separating from the noise, demands, and opinions of others to enter into His presence is essential in staying grounded in faith. It takes dedication to prayer and the word of God to lean into him when He says “no.” Suffering is inevitable, and we all will encounter a storm but “what side are you going to be on when the storm ends?”

Faith, hope and patience work together to produce endurance. Matthew 24:13 says, “ but the one that endures to the end will be saved.” Where are you going when you leave here?

Being steadfast in the midst of adversity is key to staying grounded in God. Faith, prayer, confidence, power and wisdom will unlock the strength needed to endure. Faith through prayer builds confidence that produces power and wisdom. So let patience have its perfect work in you, so that you can be whole wanting nothing but the perfect will of God for your life which is in Christ Jesus.
